It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are. --Unknown

I heard about a special momma that was expecting puppies. She lived in Florida and loved water. I met the daddy and liked his looks and his temperment. I liked all the health clearances of the parents and contacted the breeder. We clicked.
On March 18th, four very special boys were birthed by the lovely Miss Bettina. I was in constant contact with the breeder over the next 10 weeks. By the time I was heading down to Florida to meet the breeder, momma and the boys, it looked like blue boy was chosen to head north with me. I thought the name "Truman" suited this good looking boy with an attitude.
Bettina enthusiastically greeted me upon my arrival and shortly after, a puppy was in my lap. I loved on him and asked which one it was. I was told this was blue boy and the greeting was all his idea. It was love at first sight.
The trip home went very smoothly. Truman never cried and never had an accident in the van or in the motel room. I couldn’t believe how good this puppy was for me.

The introductions to his new family went very smoothly although Glory was not as enthusiastic about the change in the household. She eventually came around and they are now very good friends.
Henry was quite taken with the new puppy and was very patient and gentle with him. This surprised me quite a bit but then I should know better than to expect less from Henry.

This first year with Truman has been so rewarding. It is a big responsibility to introduce the world to a bright eager soul knowing anything you do will impact this puppy’s behavior the rest of his life. I wanted Truman to feel safe in his new home and I wanted him to know he could trust me.

It is my desire to watch him grow into a healthy, confident and well mannered newfoundland that will be a good example of this noble breed.
